SiS Youth Home Hässleholm has three locked treatment departments, one open treatment department, and two locked departments for reception and needs assessment (MBB). We accept school-age boys and girls with psychosocial issues as well as ongoing criminal activity and substance abuse.

Job Description

We are now looking for a music teacher for 50%, or alternatively a music teacher with additional qualifications, for up to 100% position. Start date 250804 or by agreement. Music teaching takes place in half classes, i.e., a maximum of four students at a time. This is to create the best possible conditions for teachers and students to work closely together, which provides good opportunities for students to learn new things and develop their musical skills. In our spacious music room, we have good access to various instruments and other equipment. Adjacent to the music room, there is also a music studio where we can create digital music. Our school activities are conducted in new, modern, and purpose-built premises. As a teacher at SiS in Hässleholm, you have a vital mission to create motivation and a desire to learn for a group of young people who often have a negative attitude towards school and have many failures behind them.

You work on building relationships and have the chance to make a difference for each individual and create space for change. The work is varied, challenging, and developing in your profession as a teacher. If you have additional qualifications beyond music, you will teach other primary school subjects in smaller student groups based on each student's needs and conditions.

As a teacher, mentoring may be relevant, which includes managing external contacts with sending and receiving schools as well as social services. You work in engaged teams around the youth, which involves close and structured collaboration between teachers, psychologists, treatment secretaries, family therapists, and department staff. You will be part of a subject network group aimed at fostering collaboration and enabling experience exchange among teachers at the authority's 22 youth homes. You will also participate in various agency-wide school conferences and training initiatives. As a new employee at SiS, various training may be relevant, partly with accommodation in another location. Qualifications

You have a positive view of people and the ability to handle conflicts constructively. As a teacher, you are secure in your professional role, flexible, and responsible. You maintain a positive and solution-focused approach even in difficult situations. You have good leadership qualities and the ability to create and maintain collaborative alliances. You are attentive and can quickly adapt to new circumstances and change your planning based on the prevailing conditions. You learn from experiences and are open to giving and receiving constructive feedback. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Experience teaching in special education groups and knowledge of neuropsychiatric issues are advantageous.

We are looking for someone with a teaching license in music, possibly in combination with additional qualifications. A broad education and interest in teaching several primary school subjects are seen as a significant asset in the school activities.
